LEAD/PRINCIPAL MECHANICAL ENGINEER RCM Engineering Process & Industrial Services Division Buffalo, NY RCM Engineering Process & Industrial Services Division executes engineering and design of industrial plant facilities that manufacture industrial gasses, chemicals and other continuous process products. We are looking for an ambitious, dynamic professional to join our rapidly growing Team as a Lead/Principal Mechanical Engineer to work full-time in our Buffalo, NY area office.

Key Responsibilities: Direct Mechanical/Piping design teams to execute diverse and challenging projects. Oversee a group of Mechanical Engineers and Designers, being responsible for technical aspects of the work including quality. Well versed in other disciplines such as civil/structural, electrical and instrumentation being capable of serving in a Project Engineering role when assignments require.

Recruit, train and develop discipline technical staff. Take charge of the Mentorship program in the group. Take an active role in developing and expanding business with existing and new clients.

Capable of developing into a Discipline Lead Engineer and/or a Project Manager. Technical Requirements: Develop specifications for mechanical equipment, mechanical systems and process piping systems. Develop, review and check design drawings, specifications, and calculations.

Mechanical stress analysis using FEA, hand calculations and other methods. Knowledge of ASME Pressure Vessel Design and ASME Process Piping Codes Piping stress analysis using CAESAR II or AutoPIPE. Perform engineering calculations for: piping network pressure drop for compressible/incompressible fluids Pump Sizing and Selection PSV and Rupture Disk Sizing Piping/Equipment Insulation Systems Perform field Inspections and walkdowns.

Steam System Design Process Piping Design and Layout Develop pipe specifications and select valves and other in-line components for industrial process systems. Evaluate materials compatibility for use in systems for various chemicals and process fluids. Troubleshoot process system issues and failures.

Qualifications: Minimum of 10 to 15 years of engineering experience, industrial related experience is beneficial Authorized to work in the United States and ability to obtain required security clearances for client site access United States Professional Engineer (PE) license Ability and willingness to travel to client locations or project sites Ability to perform work on construction sites and in operating industrial facilities Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong analytical skills Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment Proficiency with Microsoft Office products Education: Bachelor of Science (BS) or Master of Science (MS) degree in Mechanical Engineering RCM Engineering Process & Industrial Services Division RCM Engineering's Process & Industrial Division offers a comprehensive suite of services, from concept through to the commissioning of grassroots facilities, retrofits, and upgrades in the Process & Industrial markets.
